Chair and Vice Chair of City Region Elected

Councillor Mike Whitby, Leader of Birmingham City Council, has been re-elected unanimously as the Chair of the City Region at the Board’s Annual General Meeting on 3rd June. Councillor David Smith, Chair of the West Midlands Regional Assembly was also re-elected unanimously as City Region Vice Chair.

The meeting also agreed to invite the Chair or Vice Chair (or their nominee) of the West Midlands Leaders Board to attend the City Region Board. This decision was taken to strengthen the City Region’s engagement with local government throughout the West Midlands.
